TIPS
- Use Soft Dates: Medjool dates work best for a smooth texture and rich taste.
- Soak In Advance: Soak dates the night before to speed up prep in the morning.
- Oat Milk Option: For a creamier drink, use unsweetened oat milk instead of water.
- Strain For Smoothness: If texture matters, strain the blend before serving.
- Adjust Sweetness: Add an extra date for more natural sweetness or reduce for a milder taste.
VARIATIONS
- Spiced Upgrade: Add a pinch of ground nutmeg or cardamom for depth.
- Protein Boost: Mix in a teaspoon of almond butter for added richness.
- Chill It: Serve over ice for a cooling summer version.
- Vanilla Twist: A drop of vanilla extract adds a gentle flavour boost.
- Coconut Milk: Swap oat milk for coconut milk for a tropical feel and creaminess.
PREPPING AND STORAGE
- Make Ahead: Prepare the blended date mixture in advance and store it in the fridge for up to 2 days.
- Storage: Store the full drink in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 24 hours.
- Freezing: Freeze the blended date portion in ice cube trays and reheat with warm milk when needed.
